About Mufid Academic Press

Established in 2022, Mufid Academic Press is a vital part of the Mufid Seminary's mission to promote modern scholarship in Shīʿī studies and their intellectual and cultural heritage. The press focuses on publishing biographical and annotated bibliographical works of prominent Shīʿī scholars, emphasizing the rich intellectual traditions within Shīʿī studies. A significant portion of this work is authored by the seminary's own faculty and researchers, with contributions from external scholars. Until recently, studies on Shīʿī Islam within Western academia have relied almost exclusively on secondary sources. Mufid Academic Press aspires to bridge this gap by making important primary source material on Shīʿī Islam accessible in English.
